Let’s get serious. Really, why do we f*ck?
Some spend an inordinate amount of time asking this question but not *doing it*! Others don’t ask questions, just have fun, and *do it* as often as possible. Some struggle to find fun within a monogamous relationship. Others are find their fun where they may in many a way.
We talk about cheating or express regret for our youthful promiscuous youth, all the while just wanting to *do it*!
So, what’s driving us? Why do we seek multiple partners? Why do so many struggle with monogamy? From our earliest years, we are curious about sex and very sexual. Why is that? Well, if you trust the unfiltered behaviors of babes, you’d say it’s only natural.
David Cain of Raptitude.com who writes about “what makes human beings do what they do, and what that means in real life.” offers a street level view of why we f*ck and why it’s sooooo good…for all of us! He writes about how Thomas Hobbes really screwed us and screwed us up and uses quotes from evolutionary psychologist and author Christopher Ryan, from his book Sex At Dawn to explain why we like to f*ck and why it is so good for us personally and more importantly, for society.
As I think about this, it occurs to me that our conservative, Teapublican, New Age Christians have gotten bits of it right. They are promiscuous. After all, red states in the US have the highest divorce rates. They care about all children, at least until they’re born, and they care about society at large as long as it only involves prayers and blessings, but doesn’t involve their money.
